Moving can often seem like a continuous stream of stressful events. From the repetitive process of reserving a truck to the challenges of modifying bookings, coordinating with moving assistants, and handling a large truck, do-it-yourself movers using U-Haul can find the moving experience both disjointed and frustrating.
This all-in-one virtual assistant redefines the entire moving journey. It offers responsive voice-guided features that optimize tasks, enhance coordination, and provide real-time alerts and guidance. It's particularly adept at intelligently addressing complex requests, which is a valuable asset for movers under pressure. By doing so, it significantly boosts the efficiency and overall enjoyment of the moving process while simultaneously alleviating driving concerns through hands-free, real-time support.

“What is your MBTI?” Acknowledging that the current trend in personality tests as a tool for self-exploration and a potential bridge for social bonding. Our team decided to design and implement a MBTI test , in a theme-based, narrative and storytelling way. The final product is coded and accessible for scanning barcode or taking the test with link.
As a designer in the team, I was responsible for the interface design, story content generation, research about MBTI test. In this project, I collaborated closely with another designer who is responsible for the graphic desing, and developer who brings the desing to life. Through a tiny product design project like this, I was part of the product design from 0-1, and collaborate with designer and engineers to implement the product.
Our team loves MBTI test as a social bonding that helps people to pick up topics in chitchat, however the original MBTI test has many questions to answer, and there’s not much enjoyment answering the questions. In this case, we want to create a MBTI test that is more interactive, Less questions, Unpredictable questions, Result is more fun, character-based/theme-based. There are key principles we follow when desiging the MBTI test.

Our team first of all did light-weight research on the MBTI test theory and the science behind, in a word, we want to find if the MBTI test is reliable. By looking into the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and related studies. We found that many MBTI test results aren’t Scientifically valid. The MBTI® assessment was not designed to describe every aspect of personality. It focuses on four preference pairs:
Extraversion–Introversion (E–I): From where you get your energySensing–Intuition (S–N): What information you prefer to gather and trustThinking–Feeling (T–F): The process you prefer to use in making decisionsJudging–Perceiving (J–P): How you deal with the world around you
By looking into many personality tests out there, Standard personality test, there are a lots of question with predictable questions, straightforward, and giving results are more “scientific. ”in order to make it shareable with other people, fun and engaging experience for testers, we decided to move forward with Storytelling, narrative, theme-basedMore interactive through narrativeCharacter/theme-based that could be easily shared amongst friends/social mediaColorful and heavy graphic Do not focus on the accuracy of the test result
Brainstorming what kind of theme can be great for the usages, we thought of “chair” is a great object that has many variations that represents the types of personalities. As a very IdealisticCreative Empathetic person, Hammock chair might be a good representation of the type of personality. We followed a path to
(1) Main characters of each MBTI type
(2) Define characters of the chairs
(3) Mapping the MBTI type with the chair
To make a great narrative to let testers answer questions that reflects their personality, we created a storyline about moving to new apartment and how the tester might decorate houses as a theme, and developed logics behind teh questions and answers, here is the decision tree we eneded up with.
In the process I design for the landing page, test page, and result page, I work closely with Angela who did all the final illustrations for our product to make sure the product has a consisent visual language, from cover image, storylines and final result page.
